While Kylie Jenner achieved billionaire status through the success of her own brand, Kylie Cosmetics, many people questioned the validity of the term “self-made” since she comes from arguably the most famous family in the world and has been in the public eye since she was nine years old.
Recall after Forbes published a story “America’s Women Billionaires” and made Kylie Jenner it’s cover woman as the youngest self-made billionaire at 21 earlier this month. It generated a lot of controversies and criticism online as many pointed out that she grew up in a wealthy and famous family.

But when asked about the backlash in a new interview with the New York Times, Kylie admitted that it may not be entirely accurate to call her “self-made”.Now, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has admitted she wouldn’t have been able to make it on her own without a lot of ‘help’ from her family and friends including her mom Kris Jenner.
She told the New York Times newspaper:
‘I can’t say I’ve done it by myself. If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.’She said: ‘I didn’t expect anything.she said after it was pointed out that Kris took her to trademark the idea for her lip kits when she was 15.
I did not foresee the future. But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back … It’s the power of social media. I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.’
