Aloe vera is a cactus that we can grow in a pot, at home, in the garden or buy it from the market (not that recommended because it contains preservatives). We use only the gel, which is the translucent pulp of the leaves. As a rule the leaves are harvested when they are at least 3 years old, to have good enough medicinal properties, but in combination with honey it is recommended to use only the 5 years old.
